ActuTalk ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Camera Permission

ActuTalk uses the camera permission (android.permission.CAMERA) for the following purposes:

• Profile Photos: Take and upload profile pictures
• Chat Images: Share photos in private conversations
• Post Creation: Add images to your posts and status updates
• Group Chat: Share images in group conversations

What we DON'T do:

• ❌ We do NOT access your camera without your explicit permission
• ❌ We do NOT store camera data without your consent
• ❌ We do NOT share your photos with third parties for advertising
• ❌ We do NOT access your camera in the background

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary for app functionality:

• Account Information: Name, email address, username, profile photo
• User Content: Posts, comments, messages, and shared images
• Usage Data: App interactions, preferences, and settings
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and maintain the ActuTalk service
• Enable communication between users
• Personalize your experience
• Send notifications about app activity
• Improve app performance and features
• Ensure security and prevent abuse

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Authentication: Secure user account management
• Firebase Firestore: Encrypted database for user data
• Firebase Storage: Secure storage for images and media files
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notifications

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• End-to-end encryption for sensitive data
• Secure HTTPS connections
• Regular security audits
• Access controls and authentication

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal information. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your profile information and posts are visible to other users as per your privacy settings
• Service Providers: Google Firebase for hosting and infrastructure
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

7. Children's Privacy

ActuTalk is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. Third-Party Services

ActuTalk uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Backend infrastructure and authentication
• Google AdMob: Advertising (optional, can be removed with premium)
• Cloudinary: Image optimization and delivery

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Your profile and personal information are permanently deleted
• Your posts and messages are removed from the system
• Some data may be retained for legal compliance (up to 90 days)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification for significant changes

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
